Overview
The Record
Brannoc is a densely inhabited industrial settlement known for foundry maintenance, vessel repair, and the skilled trades that keep Kharad’s machinery in service. It builds relatively little under its own name. Its reputation rests instead upon restoring engines, pressure systems, and industrial works that other settlements have declared beyond repair.
Brannoc has no meaningful atmosphere. Its population lives within pressurized galleries and former extraction chambers cut deep into the body, many of them expanded repeatedly as new wards formed. Workshops and heavy industrial sections operate at lower pressure and under constant filtration to contain metallic dust, chemical residue, and heat from the repair works.
The settlement is an industrial dependency of Kharad. Local ward councils govern housing, safety, apprenticeships, and labor disputes, while Kharadi factors control major contracts, freight access, and relations beyond Brannoc. Each ward, foundry, and repair company bears its own mark; Brannoc has never adopted a single emblem of its own. When one authority must speak for the settlement, it does so beneath the name and seal of Kharad.
Brannoc’s pride is that nothing entrusted to it remains broken. Its workers measure a career in engines returned to service, furnaces relit, and vessels sent back into the dark. To Brannoc, making something new proves only that it could be built once. Keeping it alive across generations proves the greater craft. Kharad celebrates what leaves its great yards; Brannoc remembers how often those achievements eventually return in need of its hands.
Freight tugs, damaged workships, and repair tenders arrive continuously, but accommodations for ordinary passengers are limited. Visitors dock at the central spindle and transfer into the habitation wards through controlled industrial corridors. Access to active workshops requires local clearance, protective equipment, and an escort familiar with Brannoc’s safety codes.

Brannoc is tidally stabilized with its long axis held toward Oranth. Daily life follows the settlement’s shift clocks rather than its slow cycle of natural light. Across the inhabited face, industrial lamps, furnace glow, and light reflected from Oranth ensure that true darkness is rare.
Culture
The Twofold
Brannoc’s larger yards keep a Descrier on shift whenever they can secure one. Revealing a fracture hidden within metal or stone is regarded as Dawn work, and a missed flaw can cost an entire vessel and its crew. Descriers therefore command high fees, which account for no small part of Brannoc’s repair costs.
The yards call everything that follows Gloam work: reinforcement, maintenance, and the patient preservation of machinery through years of strain. Discovery may determine what is broken, but endurance keeps it alive, and endurance is what Brannoc truly sells.

Travel Notes
Freight tugs, damaged workships, and repair tenders arrive at Brannoc continuously, but ordinary passenger berths are limited. Visitors enter through the central spindle and transfer into the habitation wards along controlled industrial corridors. Movement beyond them requires local clearance, protective equipment, and compliance with Brannoc’s strict safety codes.
