Spearpoint

The outer blade of the Grasp

An Othryni fortress moon where Tharosi officers train boarding companies and low-gravity forces for deployment across the outer Grasp.

Overview

The Record

Spearpoint trains forces for places where ordinary ground tactics fail. Its low-gravity ranges, sealed boarding chambers, and buried holds prepare soldiers for stations, ships, minor moons, and the exposed approaches of the outer Grasp.

Residents support academies, garrisons, ranges, and deployment stores. Airless terrain lets instructors reproduce vacuum movement and low-gravity engagements outside the sealed galleries, while buried infrastructure protects the population and keeps training active through surface hazards.

Othryn owns the holding, controls external authority, and assigns the approach corridors. Tharosi officers direct much of the training, readiness work, and garrison routine. Spearpoint therefore extends an existing Othryni-Tharosi military relationship rather than creating an independent command.

Dawn disciplines coordinate movement and decisive action; Gloam disciplines teach concealment, restraint, and patience before boarding or ambush. The moon can prepare and deploy forces, but it cannot choose the wider obligations for which Othryn calls them.

Othryn

Spearpoint is an Othryni military holding administered in cooperation with Tharos. Othryn controls external authority, passage clearance, and wider deployment obligations; Tharosi officers direct much of the training, garrison routine, and readiness work.

Othryn’s name carries legal authority, while Tharosi devices identify academies and formations rather than a sovereign government.

Physical Characteristics

Ground and Sky

  • Diameter540 km
  • Mass0.000021433 Earth masses
  • Gravity0.02 g

Spearpoint is airless. Its 96,000 residents occupy fortified holds, barracks, and training chambers buried beneath the surface and linked by sealed transport galleries. Exterior ranges require vacuum equipment and are isolated from inhabited sections so an exercise failure does not become a settlement pressure loss.

  • Orbital Radius1,060,000 km
  • Orbital Period4.071 days
  • Rotation97.7 hours
  • Inclination0.19 degrees
  • Eccentricity0.004

Spearpoint rotates once during each 4.071-standard-day orbit and is tidally locked to Oranth. Training schedules use Tharosi military watches rather than the long exterior light cycle. Surface exercises select light, darkness, or eclipse conditions according to their objective.

Culture

The Twofold

Dawn disciplines coordinate movement, attention, and decisive action among boarding and surface companies. Gloam disciplines govern concealment, restraint, and the patience required before an ambush or breach. Both are taught as operational practices under military supervision rather than as authority to choose a campaign.

Travel

Travel Notes

Civilian access is limited to supply contracts, official delegations, and approved family traffic. Use the Othryni corridor named in the clearance and submit to Tharosi inspection before docking. A permit for one academy or exercise area does not authorize movement through another garrison.
