Overview
The Record
Cloudmere Port lets Myr receive surface traffic without allowing the port to consume the forest around it. Reinforced landing pads, low terminals, inspection halls, enclosed cargo galleries, weather towers, and ferry docks fit within a naturally open basin beside a deep mountain lake. Atmospheric craft use one narrow authorized corridor. When cloud, migration, or watershed conditions close it, traffic waits rather than cutting another approach through the canopy.
Arrival is only the first permission. Every passenger undergoes biological screening and receives onward access limited to a named settlement or institution. Medicines, cultivated woods, fibers, and research material pass through inspection before transfer among orbital carriers, lake ferries, and the few maintained surface routes; cargo bound for Ilyra is sealed here. Routes that would expose vulnerable country remain absent from public systems.
Myrran transit, ecological, medical, and watershed authorities divide responsibility for the basin. Carriers receive landing windows rather than permanent access, and commercial offices cannot extend beyond the present clearing. Cloudmere therefore frustrates the ordinary logic of a successful port: increased demand produces queues and delayed departures, not another pad or a broader road. That limitation is not an obstacle Myr intends to overcome. It is the purpose of placing the gateway here.

Governance
Myrran transit, ecological, medical, and watershed authorities jointly regulate the port. They assign carriers landing windows, inspect biological traffic, limit onward permission to named settlements or institutions, and keep every commercial operation inside the existing basin. A successful carrier gains repeated access, not a permanent claim or room to expand.
Environment and Travel
Environment
Reinforced pads, low terminals, inspection halls, enclosed cargo galleries, weather towers, and ferry docks occupy a rocky peninsula beside a misted mountain lake. The naturally open basin leaves the surrounding forest intact. Cloud, seasonal water, and movements within the living watershed can close the narrow descent corridor even when the port itself remains operable.
