Overview
The Record
Atheon Port makes arrival part of Ilyran public life. Its orbital docks receive passenger vessels, diplomatic craft, medical transports, and academic transfers rather than bulk freighters. Travelers pass from the docking arms into a central reception atrium, then through gardens, observation halls, medical suites, delegation quarters, or controlled transfer areas according to why they have come.
The port’s defining work is adjustment. Ilyra’s low gravity requires some visitors from heavier worlds to remain in adaptation suites before descent, while residents preparing to travel outward use the same institution for strength conditioning. Menders and medical staff assess patients and vulnerable arrivals; customs and navigational authorities clear their onward transfer. Diplomats bound for Elaris, patients continuing to Saphren, and students traveling to the Lucent Terraces may share a dock without sharing a route through the station.
Atheon is accessible without being uncontrolled. Foreign missions and passenger carriers maintain facilities there, but Ilyran authorities retain docking, screening, and transfer power. Quiet gardens and discreet reception can protect a traveler’s health or a delegation’s privacy; neither removes the requirement to be examined and cleared. The port carries Ilyra’s influence outward in the same forms it receives it: patients, students, agreements, and people prepared to trust an institution whose process is visible even when an arrival is not.

Governance
Ilyran civil, medical, diplomatic, and navigational authorities administer Atheon within their respective charters. Together they control docking, screening, transfer, and access to delegation or medical facilities. Foreign missions and passenger carriers may maintain quarters and service areas, but they issue no binding port orders and hold no authority over the station.
