Reclaimer

Bringing a place back

An uncommon Dawn practitioner who restores damaged or abandoned places, from orchards and poisoned basins to districts whose return is politically contested.

uncommonRarity, not rank. A practitioner is one thing for life.

A Reclaimer restores a place that has been damaged, poisoned, abandoned, or left unfinished. The classification applies to an orchard brought back into bearing, a basin made usable again, or a district returned to habitation. Its scale is larger than a Quickener’s graft or a Mender’s patient because the subject is a place and the systems that let it live.

Aster Vale depends on Reclaimers for restoration work, and its visible forests are the most frequently cited evidence that the practice has material effect. Seed vaults and concealed maintenance works beneath those forests complicate the claim. The result is visible; how much belongs to the practitioner, stored knowledge, or infrastructure remains disputed.

On Edrane, restoration becomes political before it becomes practical. Reopening a quarter that was completed and never occupied forces a decision about whether Edrane should be filled at all. The movements that hire Reclaimers challenge a Gloam establishment that treats the empty districts as part of the archive’s authority. The classification grants no answer to that dispute, so a Reclaimer entering an abandoned district arrives as part of a political undertaking rather than as a neutral repair service.
